Analysis time

Every once in a while the last vestages of a public administration degree creep out into the art business world…   Good public administrators understand their market and their audience.  With that said, i have reviewed our sales data, and generated a map of where our customers live.  I am always trying to understand our market – who is attracted to our products, and how can i improve my visibility to them.

With both a physical presence at shows and events, and the online presence in our etsy store we are reaching farther than i had thought.

Primary sales (indicated by pink) customers are from Ohio, however this year we have seen a large number of folks visiting from Detroit, Michigan.   We have sold our products to 20 states, which means we have been shipping a number of packages out.  Here is just a short list of the locations we have shipped to this year:

  • Amherst, Mass
  • Garden City, Michigan
  • Macedonia, Ohio
  • Jacksonville, Florida
  • Andover, MN
  • Chadds Forge, PA
  • Mobile, AL
  • Hammond, IN
  • Spokane, WA
  • Wellsburg, WV
  • Lookout Mountain, GA
  • Seattle, WA
  • Independence, KY
  • Austin, TX
  • New York, NY
  • Metairie, LA
  • Silverton, CO
  • Ramsey, MN

We have also had sales to Canada, with recent sales going to Toronto,  and Ottowa, both in Ontario.  We had one sale to London England, but because of the expense of shipping internationally we are currently not shipping internationally.

The customer traveling from the farthest location had been a woman visiting the states from London, England, however two weeks ago that record fell as a group of tourists traveling from Beijing, China visited and purchased soap from us.

I am amazed at how far and wide our products have traveled, and how the word is spreading.  This fall season is going to be even more interesting.

Thank you for being a supporter, encouraging us, and supporting us by your purchases, prayers and kind words.
