Mayfest at Coe Lake in Berea

Juried into this “fine art” show at Coe Lake later this morning with the Berea Fine Arts League.  This should be a lovely setting, in a park that is right next to a small lake.   This was quarry country, and according to the writings about this lake, it was a deep quarry.

I think the Gazebo will be on the other side of where we will be set up.  While the picture above was apparently taken in fall, i can just imagine how  lovely it looks now.

So I will be there with just the silks and the wire crochet, because the jury was particular, and would not permit us to bring our soap or other products, saying “Ah, that is not fine art!.”   But if you do want soap we will have a bin under the table, out of eyeshot….

And you can stroll around and visit a number of interesting artists, among which is a Cleveland landscape ledgend, Roger Coast.  I must tell you I have admired Roger’s very precise and simple drawings since i was a teenager, having bought several of his prints or etched plates.  His precision with drawing a skyline with such architectural integrity, yet different perspective drew me in years ago.  Our print does not have the Key Tower, or BP Building, or the new Federal Courthouse.  Hmm, now where did i tuck that away?

If you can, stop out between 10a and 4p today, Saturday, May 25th.
