Updates to our schedule

Winter and early spring is the time for us to submit applications, photos and jury requirements for various shows and events.  Often the bigger and more popular events require application months before the event.  So we sent off a number of applications and then the wait was on for jury responses.  And they are trickling in.  Here are a few of the events we will be a part of:

April 11, 12, 13 “Great Lakes Art Fair” – this is our first endeavor over the border to a suburb of Detroit.  We are excited to see how the market is in Detroit, and to possibly discover a new segment of the market.  This fair is 3 days in length, held in a large convention complex in Novi Michigan.  The list of artists has not yet been published, but judging from last year’s list there is a diverse group of artists and art medium.  They will be having live entertainment, and a nice selection of food options.

vibApril 26 – Vermillion in Bloom Garden Expo – Located in Sailorway Middle School, at Sailorway Drive and Rt 60, we love this event filled with amazing nurseries from the area, and wonderful gardening and yard landscape ideas.  In addition to the nurseries, the Vermillion Watercolor Society, and a number of other handcrafted artisans will be there for the day.

hesslerSaturday and Sunday, May 17, 18 on Hessler Street FAIR (Edge of Case Western Campus, just off Ford Road, due north of Euclid Avenue) – This is a wonderful throwback to the late 60s with a passion for art, music and food.  Wear your tie dye and come enjoy live music, street performers and stroll the artist booths.

Saturday, July 12   Art on the Hill, in downtown Mantua from 10a – 6p,  Its a quaint little town that fills up with 40-50 artists, poney rides, live music

Sunday, October 19  9a-3p  Textile Art Alliance Annual Wearable Fashion Show and Boutique, at Landerhaven.  Its the best day to shopping for unique handcrafted wearables.  I will be bringing my silk, and wire crochet pieces to this event.

There are a number of other applications out awaiting a reply… as we hear back we will be updating our schedule and keeping the post updated here.  If you are looking for something different, something fun please consider one of these events.  Know they are vastly different in their feel, and experience…. Hessler is a “hippie” throwback festival with lots of things to watch and enjoy…. On the other hand, Textile Art Alliance is a very lovely day filled with amazing artists, and a discerning clientele.    We love the adventures of the various venues we wander to… and we like to share.  So pencil in your calander one of these dates, and drop in to say hi!!!
