This scarf features a graphic peony burnout pattern, of velvet and silk with fringe and measures 12” x 72”.
Color: cerulean blue
The process begins with a solid velvet with silk backing. A stencil is layer over the material and a chemical paste is painted on….the chemical burns out the synthetic fibers (velvet) revealing the shear silk (natural fiber) and creating a pattern of velvet and sheer silk. This process is also known as cut Devore.
Once the burnou process is completed the fabric is washed, fringe is added, and the scarf is tub died for permanent color.
The scarf is hand washable with woolite or your favorite shampoo. Line dry, light iron on the reverse.
