This Is a one of a kind hand painted silk scarf. The drawing is called electric kitty, featuring an abstract image of a cat in hat electric colors. The resist is permanently incorporated in the pattern, and fused to the silk.
The process: white silk is layer flat on top of my drawing, gutta resist is applied , copying the drawing lines onto the silk. The silk is stretched on a frame, and specific fiber paint is applied. When dry the silk is rolled in newspaper and steamed for an hour to set the color and heat fuse the gutta resist. The scarf is then washed and ironed, and ready to wear.
