Just a reminder – this tragic hurricane ravaged Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee in the end of September. Dont forget these people – there are still many living in make shift tents and shelters, having lost it all. While we are seeing more tragedy with the fires of California i am fearful we are forgetting the countless lives still in desperate need. The hurricane that ravaged the western part of North Carolina, parts of South Carolina and Tennessee have forever changed the lives of the people there. Sadly many lives have been lost, houses ravaged or destroyed, and people left to sort out the disaster having lost everything. I cant even begin to imagine a way forward, but thank God that people have responded from all over the nation. We wanted to help and get resources and funds to the needed areas. After much research here are a few reputable organizations that you can donate to with confidence:

Bald Guy Brew is a coffee company that was hit hard. Their location at Blowing Rock was destroyed, and their roastery in Boone was damaged, but the owner of the company was determined to keep his staff employed, and is also planning to have food for the survivors, linemen, and rescue workers. He set up a portable pizza oven to do that and is brewing up coffee for them too. How can you help? Buy some coffee. This guy is one of the best roasters in the nation and his coffee is delicious. Samaratans Purse is a huge organization that is on the ground helping rescue and rebuild the community. They are personally affected because their headquarters were in the flood zone. But they dont stop…. move massive supplies and help into the most needed areas. Samaratins Purse

The truth is this will take years for the region to come back to functional. There are grieving people, who lost everything: homes, animals, family members The biggest thing we can do for the region after we give s to pray for them, and remember to keep giving as you can. it does take all of us to make a difference.
