What snack would you eat right now?
When I was a kid we ate a lot of “tinned fish”. Not just canned tuna, but sardines and herring. Over the years I would grab a can or two here and there, but recently I just had a taste for them. I bought a case of sardines in oil with piquant pepper- boneless, skinless little gems of delight.
So her are some of the benefits of consuming sardines:
- Heart health- did you know that omega 3 lowers triglycerides, is attributed to reduced blood pressure, inflammation reduction, and reducing heart disease risk.
- Brain health- DHA in the fish support memory, cognitive and mood because they are high in vitamin b12
- Bone strength- high calcium, phosphorous, magnesium and vitamin d improve bones.
- Muscles and energy-it’s a perfect protein for muscle growth, high in iron improves energy.
- Anti-inflammatory
- Helps regulate blood sugar control
And so nutritionists recommend pairing with greens for an enhanced nutrition experience.
