We began the new year with a challenge. A kind gentleman named Dave came to our studio with a nub of soap that he was hoping we could recreate. The scent was gentle, and yet not really one we quickly identified. We asked if he remembered the maker of the soap, then scoured their website. We stopped at one listing because the color of the soap was a very soft green, but the ingredients listed didnt match our nose, or so we thought. Interestingly enough a few months ago we bought several fragrant oils to create a new series of soaps we were going to call “the spa series”. We reached for the tea rose and bergamot with spice and there it was. The scent came close on matching the nub of soap.
The description of the fragrant oil includes: Zesty citrus of lemon rind, bergamot blend with fresh tea leaves, red tea roses and a hint of vanilla orchid, balanced by herbal notes of geranium, and lavender, and base notes of Palo Santo, balsamic cedar and a soft hint of musk.
While so many of the elements lead one to believe its floral its really the citrus that sets a crisp modern scent suitable for either men or women. We added French green clay to the formula to add that soft green color, but the clay actually is a natural detox pulling out impurities, toxins and excessive oils. The clay also soothes inflammation, and reduces redness due to the mineral content (magnesium and calcium). And the clay is a mild exfoliant, soothing skin and improves skin tone. We are calling this soap Sophisticated Man. (Click the photo go go to the shop) As always our soap is wrapped in a light wax wrap that allows you to smell the soap while keeping the bar pristine for your use.
Ingredients in this soap include: Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Almond Oil, Babassu Oil, Water, Sodium Hydroxide, French Green Clay, Tea Rose Bergamot FO
