William Morse was a force for design and home decorating. One of his less famous patterns was wisteria vines. This scarf captures his design with large hands of purple blooms on a field of rich green leaves and vines.
William Morris (24 March 1834 – 3 October 1896) was an English textile designer, poet, artist,[1] writer, and socialist activist associated with the British Arts and Crafts movement. He was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production.
This scarf is hand painted and is steamed to set color and permanently fuse the resist to the silk.
