Thanksgiving
In less than a week we will have thanksgiving front of our thoughts. Maybe it is the bustle of pulling together a feast for family and friends. Perhaps it is a quiet day of rest from the daily life. I just finished sending out our monthly newsletter talking about the idea of thanksgiving. That we mark only one day on our calendar to ponder and focus on thanksgiving is unique, but the truth is each day there are a thousand little things that if we take a second to reflect we will actually have an endless list of things to give thanks for. The sun comes up miraculously each morning, and we get another 24 hours to do life. So for me thanksgiving is a daily, moment by moment time of thanking God for everything.
This year the way we spend the thanksgiving day is so different. My parents have been gone for decades now, and this year we are remembering Steve’s sister, Brenda, who passed away in late July. Each thanksgiving day the table is filled with less family, and we are simplifying the celebration. Honestly with our crazy schedule i would almost love to just stay in my jammies, curl up with a book i have planned to read and just enjoy a day of rest. Can you identify?
Whatever you decide to do with your day, choose joy. If it is to follow a very specific tradition then do it with gusto. If this is the year to break a tradition and do something new then follow your heart. We do thank you for being part of our life, supporters of our business, encouragers, friends. May your day be blessed. And thank you!!!
