I have been quiet on the blog
And i apologize. The last two months we have been up to our ears in so many things. In addition to production in the studio, we had a new roof put on our home. Its an adventure to have a 105 year old home and there are always repairs and necessary things to be done. We went over 10 years without catching up on such things because our budget didnt have room for it. So this is the year to fix, repair, and replace. With the roof done our insurance company pulled a fast one and told us we had 45 days to repair or replace the driveway because it was cracked and uneven and posed insurance risk. OK so we dug deep and hired a concrete guy who completely removed the old drive and poured a wonderful new one. It looks so good!
In the middle of all of this we got the garden going. Tomatos are in grow bags along the neighbor’s fence. Peppers are in cat litter buckets along the garage, and grow bags along the other side fence. Potatos are up and booming. My vertical tiered garden, which we call the salad garden is exploding with fresh greens, and im even growing some chinese veg. One little bitter melon plant is in and almost 2 ft tall. Cucumbers go in the ground this week, as well as pumpkin and beans. Did i tell you i love my little garden?
As to the business, we will be in Medina at Boyerts greenhouse this sunday from 11a to 4p. The place is amazing – huge greenhouses that contain almost anything you would want, and more. We are excited to be there for the day. I have spent lots of money on plants there and just love the family friendly energy of the place

After that we are quiet until mid July. But so much more going on behind the scenes…. We have to go jewelweed picking to make more of our products to defeat poison ivy. We have a case of peaches coming to can up. (nothing like fresh southern peaches that smell so good even when they are green!!!) By the way have you heard of Indian River Direct, which is a scheduled truck that comes through ohio with fresh peaches, blueberries and pecans. The schedule is for Indiana/Ohio/Kentucky and i think also Wisconsin/Illinois. If they are coming anywhere near you and you love peaches dont miss it. Click on the picture for link to the schedule.
