Seasons Change, We adapt

In the summer of 2010, amidst a turbulent time of unemployment, financial stress and general upturn of our lives our soap business was born. And the only thing we knew at that time was to set up at tent at farm markets and small art shows and sell our products there. It was initially fun, but there seemed to be other aspects of our business we needed to investigate. One thought was to find local retailers willing to take our soap. Sure we would pay a percentage for that opportunity, but the retailers have to keep the lights on, and pay staff too.
Over the years we have worked with some amazing people who are passionate at retail, committed to the local shopping experience, knowledgeable about doing business and great at accounting. To be honest we also discovered some of those not so wonderful experiences, odd behaviors and accounting nightmares. But this post is all about an amazing shop we are sad to know is closing its doors at the end of the month,
In Geauga county, in little shopping plaza on kinsman road in Newbury there has been a great little art gallery, framing and gift shop initially run by an older couple but then the amazing Monica Glascock took the helm to transform it to an ever changing art mecca, with classes and socials, and tourist destination status. Artiisans Corner has been incredible – foot traffic has been good, and sales have been wonderful. But squeezed by exhorbatant rent and downward economy its days have come to an end.
We want to thank Monica for all of her tireless hard work, and creative energies. She has become a great friend, and the future is hers to run with. We only hope that our paths will cross again. Thank you Monica for all you have done. Wishing you well.
