What was positive about 2025?
It seems like this was the year to shed old concepts and thoughts…. seeking approval, letting others guide expectations. Freedom to just be us, and to do business as we love with a freedom to say no, or refuse participating in something that does not fit our model any more. As a business there have been good meaning friends that offered direction and suggested for what to make and where to go. We love the kindness of friends, but at some point we had to return to our business plan and evaluate how those ideas fit our goals and models. That freedom to be kind but decline some things is exactly that – freedom.
On a personal note this was the year to get a few big house repairs done –
- New Roof on the House
- Replaced windows in the dining room and kitchen
- Glass block windows on our basement windows,
- New Driveway
- Put up a greenhouse (its small, but so helpful).
And we have met some new artists that have become friends.
One last lesson we have been working on is shedding the negative thoughts that are not productive. Often when such ideas creep in there is more false details than truth. Thankful we are learning to take a lot of deep breaths and ruminate on things before jumping to conclusions.
