The Dangers of Sudden Wealth: Lottery Insights

Daily writing prompt
What would you do if you won the lottery?

I guess you would have to play to win. I choose to not waste my hard earned money on that effort. Behind my decision are several considerations – Sudden wealth is often something most people do not handle well. 95% of lottery winners are broke or worse off financially within 5 years of winning. Yes it speaks about how financially irresponsible some people are. But when the majority of people fail it speaks more to the human condition – that we are just not good at this sudden seductive influx of wealth we never knew before.

A second reason i dont want anything to do with the lottery is because as a Christian to choose to gamble flys in the face of God to provide my needs. By choosing tobuy lottery tickets I am telling God he is not capable of what he tells me he can and does do – provide.

So the short answer to the question of what i would do if i won the lottery is this – it will never happen, so i have no clue.
