Soup! Maybe it’s because of writing this in the middle of the winter but the truth is we love soup year round. Nothing smells bad within a big pot of chicken soup cooking or today. I made beef barley from scratch with big soup bones. I don’t know if it’s just a comfort thing, but I have done some research and determine that soup is often nutrient rich and not as high in calories and quite filling. My most favorite soup is a creamy mushroom soup. That was my mothers recipe followed quickly by homemade chicken vegetable soup.

I grew up in a house where my mom always had a pot of soup going and changed with the season. Split pea with ham was a favorite one and she also made a fabulous beef vegetable. But I developed my love for chicken soup from her. I just love a nice big bowl or mug of love from the kitchen.
