Continuing the March meet the maker challenge we are looking at the challenge to talk about behind the scenes…. Which is our studio.

Everything starts at our little studio in the Cleveland Twist Drill…. supplies, work stations, and inspiration. Our studio is shared, however each of us have dedicated space for doing our work. We have shelving that house the oils, lye, essential oils, botanicals, and a few more things…. And we inherited a nifty map file which is my place for storing the patterns for my silk painting.

Having a studio often means there are a number of projects in motion, which means it is not always orderly and organized. We always have a few batches of soap curing, or cut and ready to wrap, and there are always silk scarves either waiting to be painted or waiting to be steamed to set the color. While i was looking through the photos i realized i have not taken recent photos – our dog, Miss Daisy, was an important studio companion however she has passed on, and we no longer have her company during our work time.
