Visit The Mercantile: Auburn’s New Coffee House

There is a lovely new coffee house/gift shop that just opened in Auburn Township in Geauga County. A brand new building with a beautiful open air pavilion for enjoying your coffee and pastry, and while they are only open 3 weeks, they have begun to hold a small farmers market every thursday from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We signed up for a few of them, and last thursday was the first one. Such a nice place and great coffee, super friendly owners.

The Mercantile is located at 17720 Ravenna Road (rte 44)in Auburn and just 2 blocks north of the US 422. They have a lovely coffee/tea menu, along with pastries, and while we were there the chef was making focaccia breads with toppings – much like red pizza pie. There were 8 of us out in the covered pavillion vending for the farmers market – beyond our soap and silk there was someone with lotions and potions, boquets of flowers, wood turned wonderful things, crochet, a woman selling wreaths that have alpaca tucket in for the birds to grab for their nests, sourdough and micro greens. A lovely bunch of people.
