Highlights of 2013
Wow, it was a year for Images in Bloom!
As we finish out the old year one of our traditions is to look back, and reflect on the highs and lows of our year. As a business we saw great growth. We began the year with our merchandise in 4 shops in Northeastern Ohio, and ended the year with merchandise in 9 shops, with one in Cincinatti, OH and another over the border in Pennsylvania. I thought you might enjoy a revisit of the year in photos… from beginning to the end of the year. We have loved every ounce of the year… even the challenges. The year began with acceptance of my hand dyed silk scarf to the “Moody Blues” exhibit at Valley Arts Center in Chagrin Falls. It was an honor to be among the company of these fine artists in many media…. and then on to Trinity Cathedral for a two day Art Market at the Renaissance Faire. Such fun – a community of artists bringing together their wares, and a potluck that kept us well fed.
Our next event was Vermillion in Bloom, a much loved garden show held in the Junior high in Vermillion. I came home with some amazing plants, and a new list of customers. We always find a hearty welcome when we visit Vermillion.
Off to Wooster for the Quailcrest garden show. It was our first use of the tent, set up on the beautiful acres of this lovely garden center. We were set up adjacent to the formal herb garden… a glorious old world climbing rose was our backdrop. On to Hessler Street for a weekend trip back to the Psychodelic Sixties!!!
And throughout our summer we pitched our tent in a number of venues… BayArts Festival was set on the grassy lawn of BayArts in Huntington REservation, Tremont was set in beautiful Lincoln Park…. and our big venture was a drive to Waynesville, Ohio for the Ohio Sauerkraut Festival in October. We were astonished at the half million festival goers.
October brought me back to Textile Art Alliance Boutique and Fashion Show at Landerhaven. It was another very successful event that I was honored to be juried into. The Lakeland Artist Market, and the Art Craft Building Sale finished out the year with a flourish.
And to thank everyone for their support, and patronage we held an open house the sunday before Christmas. Our house swelled with family and friends, the smell of great food, and the sound of wonderful conversation.
We are thankful to each and every person we met, and celebrate this year that was, as we turn our gaze to a new year.
Among the pictures are: The Renaissance Faire at Trinity Cathedral, The Tea in Berea, The Cleveland Flea, Hessler Street Festival, Quailcrest, Bay Arts Festival, Tremont Art and Culture Fesitval, Sauerkraut Festival, and Art Craft Building Sale. Also pictured are a number of the shops we are in.
