Things are changing!!!

We have been in business since 2010, and we have established some patterns – Art fairs that have been predictable, familiar and events we look forward to. But…. this year things have changed.

We got news in the winter that the spring garden and art event we loved would not happen this year. Vermilion in Bloom was the last saturday of April, and 5-6 nurseries as well as 25-30 artists took over the middle school for a wonderful day. My garden always grew with a few new perennials each year. And we enjoyed the committee that organized it. But this year the committee has more pressing issues with family, health and life. So we made our peace that this event was done . Thank you Sandy Kish Jordan for the opportunity over the last 14 years.

On the wild side, several years ago we signed up to participate in a winter festival outdoors in unheated tents the second week of December in Hudson. Hudson Chriskindlmarkt was an amazing 3 day event on the Clocktower green of Hudson. Hudson is the sister city of Landsburg Germany, and with their direction the green turned into a quaint German Christmas market, with artists, food venders and entertainment. To be honest while we hated the long times in the cold, the customers and the warmth of the committee blessed the socks off of us. The announcement just came a few days ago that this will not happen this year – a combination of loss of committee members / volunteers and the rising cost of the tents they have set up. We understand ! But we are so sad this one came to an end.

The third change was actually a new event being organized by a ceramic artist we have been doing various art shows together. She was planning something called the Ceramic Pumpkin Fest in Ashland Ohio in September. Sadly, and we are certainly praying for her and her family, her newborn has major health issues that are consuming the family. It must be so difficult to face health issues of a newborn, and we totally understand and pray for them.

And finally we made the decision to not apply for Tremont Art and Culture Festival. If you know us you know that we have been a part of this festival since it’s start back in the 90s when Steve worked for Tremont West Development corporation. Over the years we have watched the festival change, evolve and our customer base has declined. While it has been a mainstay of our festival schedule, this year we just did not feel it was worth our time because they reduced the event to one day.

So we roll with the changes. You never know hat life will hold. It is sad to see changes like this, but we totally understand.
