Meet the Artists

logart

Tonight in Peninsula the Log Cabin Gallery will hold a Meet the Artists event… music, food and great art… and the cabin is something to see.  Set on a bluff in the back yard of Diane Seskes home is an authentic log cabin, purchased by her mother at a tag sale in North Carolina, and moved to the current location, this cabin exhudes all the charm of a historic 1850s log cabin, with the added bonus of being the venue for a pop up art gallery.  Diane selects 20-25 artists for each of her gallery shows.  Currently the show is “Summer Pure and Simple” and it runs through July 27th.

Among the unique and beautiful things found at the gallery are the handcarved birds of Tom Baldwin, Beautiful and unique wood treasure boxes of Carolyn Birchenall, beautiful stained glass panels, and hand blown glass balls, unique pieces of jewelry in silver, vintage, and precious metal clay.  Beautiful things of wood and of stone turned to create wonderful works of art, the amazing photography of Diane Seskes, and the quilting skills of her mom.  And there are origami jewelry and framed pieces by Ginger Wankewycz, and mixed media by Jennifer Worden.  And ofcourse we have soap, and silk in the exhibit.  There  is a feast for the eyes.

We hope you can visit the log cabin gallery for the artist reception… it should prove to be a wonderful evening under the starts, with good eats and wonderful music.
