I reached in my mailbox yesterday to find a big manila envelope filled with goodness! Yes, it was the cards advertising the coming Textile Art Alliance Fashion Show and Boutique. Once a year this is the boutique and fashion show like no other in Northeastern Ohio, and I am so privileged to be a part of the event for my fourth year! The Textile Art Alliance is an affiliate of the Cleveland Museum of Art, dedicated to promoting fiber arts and fiber education in the region. They carefully jury fiber artists from around the region, selecting the best of the best for this one day event. Spread over all of the ballrooms of Landerhaven, the boutique comes to life with unique and delightful works of wearable art. They have invited me back with my silk scarves, wire crochet jewelry, and this year i am working on special pieces that are soft fiber necklaces and earrings. Previews as we get closer to that date.
The guests attending the fashion show and luncheon are invited to preview the boutique starting at 10:30am. And the fashion show begins at 1pm with models on the runway. This year 2 pieces of larger silk will be on the runway. Its my first year doing the runway with my art, but i think it will be fun.
Those not attending the fashion show luncheon are welcome to the boutique. There is an entrance fee of $5 which allows you access to all of the rooms of boutique vendors…. everything from fancy hats and millinery to alpaca shawls, beautiful tailored outfits, knit handbags, jewelry, wearable art that you will not often see apart from this event.
