Thinking about daily routines
I just viewed an article on enterpreneur.com which has spurred me to look at my daily schedule more closely. As it is, there is a lot of emphasis on the value of routine in life, and especially in the creativity potential. Enterpreneur used project software to plot the habits of a number of famous creative people through history to demonstrate when they were creative, when they slept, when they ate, exercised, etc. Fascinating patterns that are as varied as the selection of people. As for me, I have been a notorious night owl, but as i have gotten older i find myself going to bed earlier and earlier (as the schedule permits). I can say that a routine daily time to go to bed has been something i need to stay functional. While i can run on as little as 5 hours of sleep a night, my optimal is 7.5 to 8 hours. When i have that luxury it feels like there is more clarity to get things done, and a refreshment in all areas of life.
Do you have a routine? Is there a time during your day when you are at your peak for creativity, productivity, functionality?
