It is the last week of the Its Summer exhibit at the Log Cabin Gallery

If you are looking for some adventure, and a little road trip, the charming little town of Peninsula, in Summit County is a delight.  Filled with small shops , the Cuyahoga Valley Line train stop, and a few restaurants this is a charming place to wander about and soak in victorian small town charm.

One interesting and unusual spot is the Log Cabin Gallery, located behind the home at 1671 Main Street (which is rte 303).  The log cabin began its life in rural North Carolina in the 1840s, and by the 1980s it was in danger of being destroyed.  The current owner and her mom bought the cabin in a tag sale and had it moved and reassembled in her back yard, on the bluffs above the cuyahoga river.  And now 5 times a year she opens the cabin as a pop up art gallery.  Each exhibit offers 16-20 artists offering a variety of art and fine craft.  Its a peaceful spot, with a hospitable shopkeeper.
