wishes of my days
What do you wish you could do more every day?
What a strange question. My mind races to answer this realizing my day, like yours, is filled with the tyranny of the urgent, the sudden distraction of something that pops up from nowhere and demands full attention. You see, I am that temperament that likes to plan every detail of life… setting appointments, making lists of tasks, and organizing my days. Or at least that is the plan.

If I am honest I don’t always want to do those surprise urgent things but rather stick with my methodical list, check off tasks, and have the satisfaction of completed projects.
But life is full of those little surprises, those things that derail the day. So for me I want to fill my day with bigger measures of grace, and send frustration out the door so I am not filling the day with frustration and angst.
As an artist I was tempted to say that I want to fill my days with time in studio, painting. Or as a gardener find myself weeding , watering and puttering in the garden listening to the birds sing to me. But honestly there are times for that. But I also have to feed my family, wash my laundry, and clean the house. So I seek to fill my days with grace in big measure with what needs done, so I can get to the fun stuff.
How about you?
