The Cleveland Flea
News! News! News!
Just received an email yesterday telling me that Images in Bloom has been accepted for the first official Cleveland Flea, occurring the second saturday of April in the St Clair/Superior neighborhood.
The two gals that are organizing this effort write of it:
So what is the Cleveland Flea? Part urban treasure hunt, part culinary adventure, part maker center.
An organized maze of experiences, The Cleveland Flea celebrates the thrill of the hunt and discovery of new to you treasures, Its a place to find lovey handmade goods and to happen upon an item that sparks memories of times past. Find items crafted from cherished possessions re-purposed and ready for a new home. Peruse locally made jewelry, art, crafts, clothing, food, architectural salvage and learn from artisans through workshops aimed at connecting our local talent with the community.
The Flea is also the best place to enjoy and support Cleveland’s vibrant food truck and artisanal food scene.
I must tell you I had my concern about the name “The Flea” because fine art and flea market are not the same markets, but Stephanie, the organizer, reassured me this event is so much more amazing. I look forward to it, and will keep you updated as details unfold.
So where is the St Clair/Superior neighborhood? St. Clair-Superior is a near east side neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. St. Clair-Superior is one the oldest and most culturally diverse neighborhoods in Cleveland, and is the location of Cleveland’s present-day Asia Town. The neighborhood is bordered by Interstate 90 to the North, Payne Avenue to the South, and East 27th Street to the west. The eastern border is Rockefeller Park and its main street, Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
And here is an interesting article written about this effort (Click the freshwater logo to go to the article)
