What is a silk play day? It is a full day workshop that you will learn the basics of designing and painting a silk scarf using the resist or “serti” method. You can pick from my drawings, or bring your own to use as a template for your scarf. The white piece of silk is placed on top of the drawing, secured down, and then using tubes of gutta resist you trace the design onto your silk. We will take a break for lunch while the resist dries, and then return to put the silk on frames, choose paint colors, and paint the scarf.
The process will take the full 6 hours, and know that i am there to help you with any step of the process. Once the scarf is painted it will be ironed to set the color and fuse the resist. And you can take it home ready to wear!!!!
