Vermilion in Bloom 2016
We are so blessed…. this is our 5th year of participating in Vermilion in Bloom’s Garden Fair. For one day Sailorway middle school transforms into the best place to buy plants from a number of nurseries in the area, along with wonderful art. There is an energy in this event that is electric. The community seems to celebrate the spring, and the joy of gardening with such great zeal.
There is such a fun raffle too… its called the trellis raffle… a double blind raffle… you buy a ticket and select a garden glove. In the glove is a code, which translates to a number of a raffle prize. When you purchase the raffle you really don’t know what you will get… but trust me, you want everything they have. Beautiful plants, wonderful watercolor, lovely things.
This year I planned out our donation…. and worked on a hand painted silk scarf with the Vermilion in Bloom logo. Giant zinnias in vibrant color dance on a blue sky field…. and it turned out interestingly. I am so eager to see who wins the scarf. Ofcourse we are pairing it with a selection of our soaps, and a pair of silk cocoon earrings. Here is the scarf:
Bold color, with a watercolor feel…Such fun!
So come out for the plants, visit for the rest of the goodies…. and certainly stop out and see us. We are told our spot is at the front of the gym. You cant miss us with the smell of our soap, and the color of our silks!!!!
