Of meteors and blazing glow

borrowed from nasa website

“I would rather be ashes than dust!
I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
The function of man is to live, not to exist.
I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.
I shall use my time.”
~Jack London

I have been reading some amazing things lately and this quote jumped at me.  How very true of what I want my life to be and how i hope my gifts communicate to the world.

I love the comparison of a fire burning, rather than dust settling.  And of the idea of a meteor streaking through the sky, for a moment leaving a light, a trail of sparks before going out.
